Welcome to the Proud 16th
Welcome to the Masters & Wardens Association of the Proud 16th Masonic District, Grand Lodge of Florida.
The Master’s and Warden’s Association is comprised of 12 particular Lodges, and one Memorial Lodge in Central Florida. Its primary purpose is to provide a central focal point for the Master’s and Warden’s of these Lodges to come together, in an informal meeting, to discuss and promote growth and fellowship within our Masonic Brotherhood. Each Lodge has a voice, and the votes of the principal Officers to govern the Association. The Association is presided over by a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, with a Board of Directors. Every Mason in our District is urged to attend and become involved in the proceedings and activities of the Proud 16th District.
This site is not meant to be an all-encompassing tool, but a quick reference for District 16 information, contacts and events.

Mokanna DDGM Visit Canceled
“In anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Irma, the DDGM Official Visit to Mokanna Lodge, slated for September 11th will be rescheduled. Replacement date pending. On a related note, after some internal discussions within the Proud 16th and in partnership with (and the blessing of) Grand Lodge, we are offering the Proud 16th as an option to any Mason and his family within the district who needs shelter due to Hurricane Irma. While FEMA approved evacuation facilities are always the primary option for emergency purposes, in the event that this is not possible, Winter Park Lodge will be available for shelter purposes. Meaning that Winter Park has very limited supplies on hand and no auxiliary power available. Please contact W.:M.: Jay Cebollero or Brother Tom Swonger, at Winter Park 239 for arrangements. Those affected should also consider bringing their own emergency supplies, food and items for personal comfort (including bedding). Worshipful Masters, if your Lodge would like to do the same, please notify R.:W.: Griffin as soon as possible. If a Brother from outside the Proud 16th contacts Grand Lodge, the Grand Secretary or the Grand Master will direct them to contact us here in the 16th as well.
So as not to overburden the facility(s), please DO NOT post this to public Facebook or any other forum.
Fraternally yours, Michael S. Griffin, DDGM”l
